Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling Company has increased its service capabilities following the purchase of a hoist load testing kit from Wirop Americas.
The new equipment allows Kennedy to conduct dynamic testing on lever and chain hoists with capacities up to 25t, or 55,000lb.
In addition to this new testing capability, the company conducts inspections, refurbishments, and repairs on chain falls, offering these services to its customers, which it has said may result in cost efficiencies.
Kennedy also delivers safety training courses focusing on the correct procedures for inspection, installation and use of these hoists in operational environments.
Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling account manager Justin Kucera said: “I am excited to share that Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling Co. has acquired a hoist load testing kit from Wirop Americas.
“With this new equipment, Kennedy can now dynamically test lever and chain hoists up to 25t (55,000lbs).”
Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling was established in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1979 with an initial staff of eight people. The company manufactures its slings at its facilities, sourcing materials from a network of suppliers.
Wirop Americas has supplied the newly acquired testing kit. The company operates as a wholesale distributor, established in 2016, providing hardware and equipment for fabricating wire rope, chain and synthetic rigging assemblies.
Wirop distributes and services equipment for rigging shops, including swage machines, horizontal and vertical test machines, annealing and tapering machines, reeling machines and cutting machines.
