OMI Cranes has completed the installation of a new crane system featuring a Harrington RY Wire Rope Hoist.
The recent project highlights the use of the RY hoist, which is designed for overhead lifting in demanding environments.
The RY model includes a variable frequency drive, allowing operators to control lifting and lowering speeds with greater precision and reduce load swing.
The wire rope in the hoist is constructed with an independent wire rope core for increased fatigue and wear resistance, and a full 360-degree polymer rope guide helps keep the rope aligned on the drum during operation.
The hoist also comes equipped with different motor brakes according to load capacity.
Pull-rotor motor brakes are fitted on models rated at 3t and 5t, while magnetic disc brakes are used on 7.5t and 10t versions.
Both braking systems provide controlled stopping and safety during lifting operations.
Harrington, on its partnership with OMI Cranes said: “Appreciate the partnership and the great install!”
OMI Cranes is responsible for designing, engineering, and manufacturing the crane system in-house, delivering overhead lifting equipment that complies with industry regulations such as OSHA, CMAA, and NEC standards.
The company has operated for over five decades and holds membership with the Crane Manufacturers Association of America.
Harrington, part of Kito Crosby, produces a range of lifting solutions including electric wire rope hoists, chain hoists, trolleys, cranes, material handling equipment, and replacement parts.
Last month, OMi Cranes completed testing of an R&M Materials Handling single-girder box girder kit crane at its facility.
