The Peterson Company, a US-based construction firm, has completed a 12,000 ft2 overhead crane bay for Aertssen Group in Rincon, Georgia, north of Savannah.
The project included concrete foundations and power installations for a 150-ton overhead crane supplied by Konecranes, a global provider of material handling solutions.
Aertssen Group, a family-owned company from Belgium, operates in heavy machinery logistics, offering services such as earthmoving, road construction, and machinery rental.
The new crane bay marks a significant expansion for Aertssen, enhancing its logistics capabilities in the US, alongside its existing operations in Belgium and the Arabian Gulf.
Peterson, in a LinkedIn post, said: “Our team built a 12,000-square-foot overhead crane bay for Aertssen Group, a leader in heavy machinery logistics.
“The scope included concrete foundations and power installation for a 150-ton overhead crane provided by Konecranes.
“This project is a great example of how we bring heavy-duty infrastructure to life!”
Peterson, renowned for its construction, tenant improvement, and property maintenance services, emphasises a strong development and ownership background.
The company operates in the construction industry, focusing on delivering functional and cost-effective solutions.
Konecranes, known for its comprehensive material handling solutions, provided the 150-ton overhead crane integral to the project.
The company is recognised for its role in ensuring efficient and sustainable handling of materials across various industries.
Last month, Konecranes supplied customised overhead cranes for Chart Industries’ new production facility in Theodore, Alabama, US.
The facility, dedicated to manufacturing the largest shop-built cryogenic storage containers globally, required advanced lifting solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
The overhead cranes, integral to the production process, are designed to handle complex and heavy-duty tasks essential for cryogenic tank production.
