US-based Product Handling Design (PHD) Crane Systems has announced the successful installation of a set of overhead cranes at a customer’s facility.

The company was contracted by the client to supply and install three 5t cranes.

PHD has not disclosed details about the customer or the facility’s location where it fitted the systems.

Established in 1964, the firm produces material handling systems. It designs and fabricates columns, runways, and girders in-house, according to custom system requirements. It has also developed fully automatic crane systems.

PHD supplies top running and under running bridge cranes, gantry cranes, monorails, jib cranes, and patent track systems.

According to the company, its under running single girder (URSG) crane supports safe working loads up to 15t and spans up to 105ft.

Unlike similar models that require columns, this crane anchors its runway to the ceiling of the existing structure to keep floors clear and increase the hook approach distance.

The company has worked on projects for several customers such as NASA, Qantas, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, EVA Air, Gates Rubber, and others.

Recently, PHD completed a major installation project that consisted of eight runway systems, totalling more than 8,800ft of runway, and 32 cranes in Houston.

In addition, the company provided five free-standing runways, each 500ft long, along with four 25t x 80ft double-girder cranes for an unnamed customer.

Earlier this year, it also a 35t x 84ft top running double girder crane for one of its long-time clients.
