US-based plastic manufacturer Blue Ridge Industries has completed the installation of a new overhead crane at its facility to accommodate larger injection moulding equipment.

The investment aims to support increased customer demand for large-part injection moulding and allow the firm to process bigger moulds.

The new equipment allows for quicker changeovers between moulds, which is expected to reduce downtime and increase production efficiency.

The company said: “We recently installed a new overhead crane to support the addition of larger injection moulding equipment and meet our customers’ growing needs.

“We’re excited to continue delivering innovative solutions and helping our customers achieve their goals.”

As part of its recent expansion, Blue Ridge Industries continues to broaden its service offerings in plastic moulded parts production.

The company utilises electric moulding machines ranging from 75t to 900t and incorporates robotics into every work centre, alongside real-time process monitoring, to enhance delivery speed and product quality.

Blue Ridge Industries applies both commodity and specialised resins in its manufacturing processes.

The company also provides rapid prototyping services through its HP540 multi-jet fusion 3D printer, capable of producing nylon 12 prototypes and fixtures overnight.

It also offers additional services, including pad printing, UV inkjet printing, and hot stamping.

To streamline order fulfilment, Blue Ridge Industries provides packaging, warehousing and shipping support for finished products.

With more than three decades of operation in injection moulding, the company continues to invest in technology and expand capabilities to meet evolving requirements across projects.
