Konecranes US has completed the installation of three 20t overhead cranes at a steel fabrication facility that supplies bridge manufacturing projects.

The new crane system is designed to assist with the transport of raw materials, the handling of steel beams during production, and the movement of finished components prepared for shipment.

Two cranes with a 60ft span were installed in the facility’s East Bay, while a third unit with a 40ft span was set up in the West Bay.

The equipment has radio remote control, collision avoidance systems, load displays on the bridge, thermal protection for hoisting and travel motors, a hook-operated limit switch, integrated lighting, operator-controlled horns, and remote condition monitoring via TruConnect Remote Services.

These functions are designed to support material flow throughout all stages of production.

The company said: “At a steel fabrication facility supporting bridge manufacturing, our Konecranes Configured-to-Order (CTO) team delivered a crane system designed to keep material flowing safely through every stage of production.

“Projects like this highlight how our CTO team designs crane solutions around the application to keep materials moving safely and efficiently.

“Great work to the team who helped bring this to life.”

Konecranes US supplies lifting solutions directly to several sectors such as automotive, general manufacturing, mining, petroleum and gas, paper and forest products, power generation, and metals production.
