US-based D&D Mechanical has completed the erection of structural steel designed to support an overhead crane system for an unnamed client.
The project involved installing 60,000lb of steel over a five-day period, with more than 400ft of field welds carried out during the process.
A crew of five managed all aspects of the installation, finishing the work within approximately two weeks.
The completion marks a significant stage in the overall project timeline.
The company said: “Our team recently completed the erection of structural steel to support an overhead crane system — delivering a key milestone safely and on schedule.
“Strong planning, tight coordination, and disciplined field execution made this one happen.”
Founded in 2004, D&D Mechanical operates as a mechanical construction contractor serving industrial and commercial clients.
The company’s management team brings a wide range of experience in construction management, engineering and plant maintenance across these sectors.
D&D Mechanical provides services including fabrication, installation, and repair of process equipment, piping, plumbing and mechanical systems.
The company also supports these operations through procurement, project planning and scheduling.
Last month, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, D&D Mechanical replaced existing boilers with two new high-efficiency 600HP units.
The installation included economisers, deaerator/surge tanks, a feedwater conditioning system, and all necessary piping for boiler feedwater, steam, condensate, fuel, compressed air and process water heating systems.
The project also involved making tie-ins to existing piping systems to ensure continuous facility operations during the work.
