US-based Boehm Pressed Steel is upgrading its 10t shop-floor crane system, modernising the equipment used to load steel coils that feed its four stamping presses.
The overhaul is part of the company’s ongoing investment in production assets and site infrastructure.
As part of the project, Boehm is also installing new overhead rail systems to improve operations and ensure consistent performance and safety along the crane’s travel path.
The company said: “We’re excited to share an important upgrade taking place on our shop floor that will enhance both efficiency and long-term reliability.
“As part of this initiative, we’re also installing new overhead rail systems designed to improve safety, consistency, and performance across the full length of the crane’s operation.”
Founded in 1918, Boehm Pressed Steel manufactures metal stampings, deep-drawn components, and welded assemblies for industries, including automotive and appliances.
The company also offers in-house tooling and design capabilities, supported by engineering resources that help customers optimise part performance and develop application-specific solutions.
In October, Boehm Pressed Steel carried out several updates to one of its progressive die presses.
The work included repairs and modifications to the platform, installation of slip-resistant safety mats, and repainting of cabinets, conveyors, tool storage areas, and steps and rails in safety yellow.
The company also introduced a new workbench, enhanced lighting, and restructured shelving to allow for improved organisation and labelling.
Alongside these press improvements, Boehm Pressed Steel has introduced an automatic deburring and demagnetisation process for a high-volume component.
The company states the changes support improvements in safety, workplace conditions, and the efficiency of press operations.
