US-based CraneWerks has completed the design and construction of a 40ft vacuum lifter system to integrate with an existing overhead crane for a semi-trailer manufacturer.

The new equipment is designed to help lift and position roof panels during box trailer production.

The vacuum lifter features an electric generator powered via a cord reel, while operators manage both the crane and lifter through a unified radio control system.

CraneWerks developed the system as part of its ongoing work providing fully integrated overhead material handling solutions for manufacturers and related sectors.

The company said: “This project gave us the opportunity to deliver a true turnkey solution—allowing the customer to safely and efficiently lift and position roof panels for box trailers.”

Established in 1997, CraneWerks operates within the US material handling industry through a national network of partner dealerships.

The company supplies a range of cranes and below-the-hook devices, aligning each solution with customer requirements.

Through its dealer partnerships, CraneWerks aims to enable independent businesses to offer expanded sales, installations, and services for overhead cranes and related products.

The firm sources components in bulk and manufactures equipment in-house, which it says allows smaller dealers to access equipment at reduced cost.

In January, CraneWerks installed two new 60ft top-running double girder cranes for a client in Wisconsin, replacing equipment that was no longer operational.

The company carried out the removal and installation in a restricted space, enabling production at the site to proceed with minimal interruption.
