Canada-based company EVK Consulting has completed a load analysis for an industrial property in Aurora, Ontario, where the client intends to install an overhead crane.

The engineering firm assessed the building’s structure to confirm that the columns can support the crane’s travelling loads.

This analysis forms a preliminary step required before moving ahead with construction.

EVK Consulting CEO Evan Klasios said: “Load analysis completed for an industrial building in Aurora! Our client wanted to construct a new overhead crane.

“EVK Consulting performed the load analysis on the structure to ensure the traveling loads could be supported by the columns.”

In December 2025, EVK Consulting carried out a balcony condition assessment at OWSJ apartment and condominium buildings in Hamilton.

The firm identified issues such as delamination and spalling at anchor embedment points, indicating the need for structural repairs.

Unlike traditional reinforced concrete balconies, the unique construction of OWSJ buildings presents specific challenges during the repair process.
