Olsen Chain & Cable has finalised the installation of a 5t overhead crane at a facility in Chanhassen, Minnesota, US, as part of a project in collaboration with Knutson Construction.

The company handled the design, fabrication, and installation of an SGUR crane from R&M Materials Handling, engineered for the facility’s operational demands.

The scope of work also included a Cleveland Tramrail 2t monorail system mounted on the ceiling with a curved track.

The system is equipped with two 1t Harrington wireless, radio-controlled trolley and hoist units, intended to facilitate material handling across the workspace.

Olsen Chain & Cable incorporated a Gorbel Tether Track fall arrest system alongside the new 5t crane to address workplace safety requirements during boom truck maintenance.

This addition aims to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards by providing overhead fall protection for personnel.

Established in 1950, Olsen Chain & Cable supplies overhead lifting equipment and related services to construction and manufacturing businesses.

The company’s offerings include equipment rental, refurbishment, and OSHA inspection and consulting.

Its product range encompasses abrasives, chain and cable, fasteners, hand tools, safety equipment, and other industrial supplies.

In August this year, Olsen Chain and Cable installed three new R&M Materials Handling cranes at Knutson Construction Services in Waite Park, Minnesota.

The project included the design, fabrication, and installation of a 3t crane for the weld shop and two five-ton cranes for the high bay fleet building.
