Canada-based Pro-Direct Industriel (PDI) has completed the installation of a free-standing workstation crane system manufactured by Gorbel for an undisclosed client.

The project involved fitting the crane into an industrial site, designed to support various working conditions.

PDI acted as the systems integrator for the installation, ensuring that the equipment met the facility’s operational requirements.

PDI technical outside/inside sales representative Emmanuel L. Montufar said: “Gorbel workstation crane systems can be installed in all sorts of different environments and are sure to last, whatever you put them through.”

PDI, established in 1989, specialises in engineering solutions for the material handling sector.

The company started by supplying high-tech industrial products and later expanded its services to turnkey installations.

Its offerings include mechanical and electrical modernisations for customised crane systems.

In 2005, the company expanded its manufacturing portfolio to include overhead, gantry, and jib cranes, as well as monorail systems and a range of lifting and control devices for industrial applications.

Gorbel’s crane systems, now included within PDI’s installations, are used in different industries to assist with material handling operations.

This recent installation further strengthens PDI’s track record of delivering major crane projects across a wide range of industries.

In December 2025, PDI replaced an old overhead crane at a client’s facility. The replacement involved a new crane with a lifting capacity of 7.5t, intended to enhance operations at the site.

PDI’s project teams oversaw the installation, using their background in modernising material handling equipment for industrial clients.
