US-based lifting and rigging solutions company Tri State Rigging has completed the removal of an overhead crane at a site in Glasgow, Kentucky.

The crew used a new RT 780 Rough Terrain Crane, which has an 80t capacity and recently joined the company’s Bowling Green fleet, to carry out the task, despite restricted headroom.

The process required detailed preparation and specific equipment to ensure safety throughout the removal. It was carried out for an unnamed client.

The whole crane removal process was overseen directly by crane operator Allen Detweiler.

In a LinkedIn post, the company said: “Another solid job wrapped up in Glasgow, KY. Using the newest addition to our Bowling Green fleet, the RT 780 (80 tonne) Rough Terrain Crane, our crew pulled off a tricky overhead crane removal with minimal headroom to work with.

“It took careful planning, the right gear, and a steady hand from our operator to get it done safely and cleanly.”

Tri State Rigging operates out of Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana, providing machinery moving, rigging, and industrial maintenance services throughout the Midwest.

The company offers solutions for various tasks including warehousing as well as load and offload services for industrial machinery and materials.

Recently, the company revealed it has a warehouse in Louisville, Kentucky. The facility offers more than 10,000ft² of capacity for heavy equipment management.
