Canadian manufacturer Vulcan Hoist has reached a partnership agreement with UK-based lifting equipment maker William Hackett.
William Hackett has produced and distributed chain and related lifting system products since 1892.
Vulcan Hoist is the sole Canadian producer of electric hoists and trolleys and has been operating for over 60 years. Apart from electric hoists, it has supplied manual chain hoists, ratchet pullers, beam and plate clamps since 1973.
The strategic arrangement includes product sharing between the two firms.
Customers of Vulcan Hoist in Canada and the US will have increased access to hoists and lifting equipment made by William Hackett.
The initial phase will introduce William Hackett’s Quad Pawl hoists, with further expansion of the portfolio planned through 2026.
Through this arrangement, William Hackett aims to increase its presence in the Canadian market while also making use of Vulcan’s expertise in electric hoist technology.
Both companies intend for the partnership to improve product availability and service capabilities across multiple industrial sectors, including energy, construction, infrastructure, and commercial.

The new collaboration unifies the experience and product portfolios of both firms to serve a wider range of industries in North America and internationally.
“The partnership with Vulcan Hoist will accelerate our plans for expansion into Canada, an important market for William Hackett. It is also our goal to be a full-line provider of hoists and associated equipment,” added Howard.
In October last year, William Hackett collaborated with US-based Atlas Lifting & Rigging to import hoists including Quad Pawl technology models.
