US-based Wazee Crane has been contracted by a manufacturer to supply overhead cranes suited to the requirements of their new sites.
Under the contract, Wazee Crane is producing more than 15 single-girder cranes, each with a 5t capacity.
The cranes will support the manufacturing process at the client’s new production sites.
Without disclosing the details of the manufacturer, Wazee Crane explained the contract comes amid the growth of AI data centres and their increasing requirements for energy as they expand operations.
To address their need for temporary power, data centres are working with companies that produce mobile power infrastructure, such as generators mounted on trailers.
The company said in its social media post: “Industrial cranes are just one part of the Timken Power Systems network that can help support the exploding demand for AI data centre power generation.”
Wazee Crane operates from Broomfield, Colorado and produces overhead bridge cranes, as well as supplying hoists.
The company assembles all cranes at its Rocky Mountain facility and ships them to various locations.
Alongside manufacturing, its field service team delivers upgrades, repairs, inspections, load testing and servicing for cranes of different makes.
The business forms part of the Timken Power Systems network, which offers gearboxes, electric motors and generator services to power generation plants.
Wazee Crane reports a long history supporting industrial clients in the power sector, including those supplying equipment to AI data centres.
In July this year, Wazee Crane supplied two 10t top-running double-girder overhead bridge cranes, each equipped with two 5t hoists, to Rollon, a Timken facility in the Midwest which manufactures linear components, and motion systems for industrial use.
The project also included a 400ft freestanding runway, which supported Rollon’s daily operational needs.
