Superior Crane Corporation (SCC) has completed the installation of all 16 cranes at a client facility, marking the end of the primary assembly phase for this large-scale project.

The company teams are now focused on finalising electrical work to prepare the systems for production use.

Work began in March, when SCC initiated the erection of 16 cranes and their corresponding runways as part of an extensive client commission.

SCC’s service, production, and office teams jointly coordinated logistics and assembly activities, ensuring all equipment was delivered and installed according to schedule.

The project involved the use of cranes manufactured with components supplied by R&M Materials Handling, including double-girder, top-running cranes equipped with two trolley hoists rated at 17.5t lifting capacity each.

In January this year, SCC shipped the first of the 16 cranes, each with a 75ft span, as a part of its broader contractual commitments for the project.

The shipment launched the delivery schedule for the full suite of cranes, which features full assemblies with hoists, end trucks, and controls.

R&M Materials Handling was the main supplier of these systems, and each unit was constructed using in-house manufacturing processes overseen by SCC’s engineering division.

Superior Crane Corporation operates as a manufacturer and provider of material handling equipment within the US.

Its operations include the production of individual components such as hoists, as well as the assembly of complete crane systems with a variety of lifting capacities.

In addition to manufacturing, the company supports its products with sales and engineering services and supplies equipment from several brands, including R&M, Columbus McKinnon, and Magnetek.

The completion of the current installation marks the latest milestone in SCC’s portfolio of material handling solutions.

Final electrical commissioning is underway, after which the client’s new crane system will be ready for regular production tasks.

The company said: “All 16 cranes are now installed and in place for this customer, another major project delivered by our team. From start to finish, we tackled the toughest challenges head-on and kept the job moving forward.”
