S&K Industrial has delivered a custom jib crane solution to a manufacturing company that faced a safety issue.
After receiving the crane solution, the company was able to resume production on schedule, having previously halted operations.
The incident occurred after a planned shutdown, when an existing jib crane was found to require a non-standard rotation stop.
Without the modification, the crane’s boom risked entering a forklift travel aisle, raising safety concerns that prevented the restart of production.
With no standard or off-the-shelf solution available from the original crane manufacturer, the company sought external assistance.
S&K Industrial, which had not supplied or installed the original crane, was approached to address the issue.
According to the company, its engineering and fabrication teams designed, produced, and delivered the necessary rotation stop within 48 hours, enabling the manufacturer to obtain safety approval to return to operations as planned.

S&K provides design, fabrication, and installation services for a number of sectors, including automotive, construction, logistics, and manufacturing.
The company was established in 1960 and operates throughout the country, offering both standardised products and customised solutions.
The firm’s product range covers assembly tools and fastening systems, hoists and cranes, conveyors and lift tables, safety supplies, work platforms, prefabricated buildings, as well as custom engineering and automation services.
S&K Industrial also offers equipment rental and repair. The company manages projects from initial assessment through to completed installation by drawing on in-house engineering expertise and partnerships with its vendors.
In March, S&K relocated and reconfigured two 64ft runway crane systems at a client facility, merging them into a single 128ft crane system in response to a recent production line expansion.
