VAHLE’s APOS Magnetic Touchless provides absolute position feedback for overhead cranes, conveyors and automated material handling equipment. Using a magnetic code tape and contactless scanning, the system delivers 1 mm resolution. Position values are available immediately after startup or a power interruption, eliminating the need for a reference run or homing procedure.
Designed for indoor industrial applications, contactless scanning eliminates mechanical wear between the read head and magnetic tape. Magnetic detection resists moisture, dust and changing light conditions, supporting reliable crane positioning in demanding environments. The system can be installed independently or integrated with VAHLE KBH and MKH conductor bar systems, with RS485 and SSI interfaces available for connection to automation controls.
