VAHLE’s SMGX is a slotted waveguide data transmission system for overhead, process and gantry cranes in demanding industrial environments. Its shielded aluminum profile helps protect crane communications from external radio interference while limiting signal leakage to surrounding systems.
Designed for indoor and outdoor applications, SMGX supports data transmission at 100 Mbps and is compatible with PROFINET and PROFIsafe. Its robust construction accommodates vibration, mechanical stress and challenging operating conditions, making it suitable for industrial facilities, outdoor crane yards and port terminals. Optional heating is available for cold conditions, and SMGX can be combined with VAHLE power supply, positioning and control systems.
