Acculift has installed a free-standing workstation bridge crane system for an undisclosed client in the manufacturing sector, aiming to enhance flexible lifting coverage across an extensive production area.

The system features a 103ft runway and a 20ft steel bridge, supporting a lifting capacity of 1000lb. It incorporates two-speed electric chain hoists which are operated using a radio remote control.

The company reports that workstation cranes such as this provide a practical method for improving material movement within designated work areas, while not relying on the building’s structure for support.

The installation was managed from the preliminary planning stage through to completion, with the system configured around the client’s operational requirements.

Acculift said: “From planning to installation, the goal is simple: build a lifting system around how the operation actually works.”

The approach is intended to tailor each project to specific workflow needs within the client’s environment.

Founded in 1985, Acculift supplies and installs a range of lifting equipment for the manufacturing industry, including overhead and jib cranes, lifting magnets, and chain hoists.

The company carries out project management across all stages, adjusting equipment specifications to fit the relevant application and available budget in an effort to reduce design or installation risks.

During installation processes, Acculift conducts load testing and supplies on-site testing weights, which enables immediate certification of installed equipment.

Following completion, customers receive documentation such as maintenance manuals, certificates of conformance, and inspection records.

Acculift further noted that, beyond meeting regulatory requirements, it informs clients about ongoing compliance obligations during both the engineering and installation phases.

Last month, Acculift completed an expansion of a workstation bridge crane system for a customer in Ontario, Canada.

The project increased material-handling capacity throughout the facility by extending the system’s runways, installing lightweight aluminium bridges, adding new electric chain hoists, and updating power delivery components. The upgrades were integrated with the customer’s existing overhead crane equipment.
