Georgia-based Ace Industries has completed the installation of an 86ft span, 7.5t bridge crane at a food distribution centre in Florida.

The company’s Thomasville crew carried out the project with support from the Baton Rouge branch, which provided a 27,000lb reach lift necessary for the job, as the required equipment was not initially available at the Thomasville site.

The company said: “We love seeing two branches work together to find solutions.

“We’re proud to build a work culture that encourages teamwork, creative problem solving, and doing things right!”

Ace Industries operates over 30 branches across the US, with resources including warehouses, service centres and sales offices.

The company distributes a range of products such as electric chain hoists, hand chain hoists, wire rope hoists, trolleys, crane components and accessories, supplied from regional warehouses in Houston, Atlanta and Cincinnati.

In addition to distribution, the firm manufactures overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and runway systems at its own facilities, staffed by engineers and technical personnel specialising in structural, mechanical and electrical fields.

Founded in 1932, Ace Industries remains a privately owned supplier in the overhead crane and hoist industry.

Last week, Ace Industries completed a crane installation at a facility in Detroit that required a trolley gauge larger than standard specifications. Structural constraints within the building necessitated the use of the increased gauge.

By coordinating planning efforts and addressing technical requirements, the team finished the installation and brought the crane into operation before the scheduled deadline.

In February, Ace Industries finished installing 15 freestanding 1t jib cranes at a refurbished facility for a client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
