Trade-Mark Industrial has completed the installation of a 10t double-girder overhead crane for Fischer Canada SSTI, utilising equipment supplied by Konecranes.
The project involved managing every stage, from offloading the crane from its container to final hookup and commissioning.
The newly installed overhead crane spans nearly 100ft and weighs approximately 44,000lb.
Installation was carried out using Trade-Mark Industrial’s rotary hydraulic lift table in combination with a Versa 60/80 forklift.
The company reported that its rigging team maintained control and precise alignment throughout the process.
The company stated that the formula for a successful industrial project includes “careful planning, right equipment, skilled tradespeople, [and] a strong focus on safety.”
Fischer Canada SSTI is part of the Fischer Group, which supplies longitudinally welded stainless steel tubes and components.
The group also manufactures complex components and develops high-power battery storage systems.
According to the company, it refines processes from slit steel to final components to optimise product performance.
Trade-Mark Industrial, established in 1998, delivers millwrighting, rigging, electrical, piping, sheet metal, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) projects.
The firm operates in Southwestern Ontario and other parts of Canada and the US.
Its operations are run from a central Cambridge location, with more than 500 service vehicles and a facility that includes dedicated shops for metal fabrication, pipe work, assembly, electric motor rewinding, machining, tooling, and vehicle maintenance.
Last month, Trade-Mark Industrial coordinated the relocation of a Liebherr LH 80 Material Handler, moving the equipment from Burlington, Ontario to Whitby, Ontario.
To address this, the Trade-Mark Heavy Transportation team used a 10ft-wide, nine-axle dropside trailer to serve as a beam float. This allowed the frame of the material handler to be blocked up on the trailer and secured for transit.
The move required three escort vehicles and relied on the coordination of an experienced team to ensure the machinery was relocated safely.
