VAHLE’s SMGM is a compact slotted waveguide data transmission system for indoor cranes, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), electric monorail systems and conveyors. Communication takes place within a shielded aluminum profile, helping protect control and diagnostic data from electromagnetic interference while allowing operation alongside existing wireless networks.
SMGM supports data transmission at 100 Mbps and is compatible with PROFINET and PROFIsafe. Its compact profile supports integration into common electric monorail and conveyor systems, particularly where installation space is limited. SMGM can also be combined with VAHLE power supply, positioning and control technologies to support coordinated industrial automation.
