Ace Industries has completed the installation of a 10t, 55ft free-standing runway crane system at an indoor facility, with the project managed by its Thomasville branch in Georgia, US.
The new system, which includes a Detroit Hoist, is now operational and supporting daily activities at the site.
Crew members have reported increased efficiency following the installation of the crane.
Ace Industries said: “Completed by our Thomasville branch, this indoor project features a 10t, 55ft free-standing runway system with a Detroit Hoist.
“The new crane is already improving daily operations, and according to the project manager, the crew on site was very happy to finally have a crane supporting their work.”
Founded in 1932, Ace Industries operates as an independent distributor, manufacturer, and service provider for overhead cranes and hoists in the US.
The company maintains more than 30 branches with warehouses, service centres, and sales offices across the country.
Ace Industries supplies a range of products including electric and manual hoists, trolleys, crane components, and accessories, with inventories stocked in regional warehouses located in Houston, Atlanta, and Cincinnati.
The company also manufactures overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and runway systems at its own facilities.
In July 2024, Ace Industries launched its service offering, the Overhead Crane Runway Survey. Developed by the company’s crane experts, the service provided crane operators with information on the condition of their overhead crane runways.
Through inspections covering rail span, rail elevation, and runway beam alignment, the survey enabled operators to identify potential issues and make decisions regarding maintenance or repairs. The Runway Survey included a report detailing inspection findings and recommendations for improvements. This report supported operators in maintaining the safety and efficiency of their equipment, aiming to reduce the risk of accidents and downtime.
