Kristian Electric has completed the supply of a fully customised overhead crane for a customer in northern Alberta, Canada.

The crane, which features a 20t DEMAG DH1000 wire rope hoist and a span of nearly 100ft, was recently dispatched from the company’s production facility.

Designed and built to meet specific requirements, the crane includes custom walkways, service platforms, and add-ons such as full variable frequency drive (VFD) motion control and true vertical lift.

According to Kristian Electric, the DEMAG DH1000 hoist is suitable for use in large industrial plants and fabrication shops that require equipment capable of handling high-capacity lifts.

Kristian Electric Sales and Marketing Vice President Chad Gjertsen said: “These are not off-the-shelf cranes. They are carefully designed, fabricated, assembled and customised to meet the demands of the people who will rely on them every day.

“I never get tired of seeing one of these giants leave our shop—especially knowing the work, expertise and teamwork that went into building it.”

Since opening a manufacturing division in Edmonton in 2000, Kristian Electric has focused on the fabrication of custom overhead cranes for customers throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The business provides overhead crane sales, parts, servicing and inspection, and employs technicians qualified to exceed OHS and CSA safety requirements in Canada.

Kristian Electric, founded in 1964, remains a family-owned operation. It offers a range of services within the welding and material-handling industries, including sales, parts, rentals, and repair of welding machines and cranes.

The company is an authorised distributor for several major brands, including Miller, Lincoln Electric, Hypertherm, and ESAB.

It is also Canada’s only authorised distributor of Miller ProHeat Induction Heating Systems.

Drawing on decades of experience, the company says it provides tailored solutions for industrial clients across western Canada.
