Kinocranes, a manufacturer of lifting equipment, has completed the commissioning of a 20t freestanding gantry crane for an unnamed customer in the US.

The lifting equipment was installed in the client’s warehouse, where the existing building was not designed to support a traditional overhead crane system.

The project addressed specific challenges in the US warehouse, namely that reinforcing the structure to support an overhead crane was not practical.

Welding new rails to existing roof trusses was considered too expensive, potentially disruptive, and would have halted production for several weeks.

Instead, Kinocranes supplied a semi-gantry crane system that operates independently of the building frame.

The freestanding crane rests on its own rails, ensuring that no load is transferred to the warehouse structure.

According to Kinocranes, the 20t capacity gantry crane was successfully fully load tested ahead of commissioning.

Installation progressed from the construction of the first column to the initial lifting operation in a span of nine days.

Kinocranes was established in 2008 and manufactures more than 3,000 cranes annually at its facility in Changyuan, Henan.

The company’s range of products includes overhead cranes, gantry cranes, electric hoists, and bespoke lifting solutions.

Its equipment serves industries such as steel, energy, logistics, transportation, shipbuilding, and aerospace.

The company reports that it holds over 449 patents related to crane technologies and has delivered lifting solutions to more than 2,000 clients in over 120 countries.

Kinocranes also states that its operations comply with international standards, including ISO and CE certifications.
