The Liftsafe Group of Companies has completed testing and commissioning of its first two overhead cranes at a new facility located on Eagle Street in Cambridge, Ontario.
The company announced that the cranes, positioned in the shipping bay, mark a significant step as the site is prepared for full operational status.
The newly commissioned cranes are expected to play a central role in the material handling activities at the Eagle Street site.
The facility is one of Liftsafe’s recent investments aimed at enhancing capacity for its range of industrial service offerings.
Liftsafe Group of Companies engineering manager Hamed Hameed said: “We successfully tested and commissioned the first two overhead cranes in the shipping bay at our new Eagle Street facility in Cambridge, Ontario! Another great milestone as we continue preparing our new facility for full operations.”
The Liftsafe Group of Companies comprises several business units, including Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group, PARCS, Liftsafe Fall Protection, and R&D ERGO.
The organisation was originally established as Liftsafe Inspections in 1991 and has since expanded its operations to cover multiple segments within the lifting, material handling, and fall protection equipment sectors.
The business provides end-to-end services spanning the entire lifecycle of lifting and safety equipment. This includes activities such as design, project approval, implementation, and ongoing inspection and servicing.
Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group focuses on inspections, service, engineering, and fabrication for the material handling industry.
The company is privately owned and has experienced substantial growth since its founding more than 25 years ago.
Recently, Liftsafe supplied six workstation crane systems to a custom curtain wall manufacturer following the redesign of its material handling process.
The project addressed the manufacturer’s ongoing challenges in transporting fragile, asymmetrical products, which previously relied on manual slings and large overhead cranes.
In March, Liftsafe designed and installed a 5t overhead crane for an automotive manufacturer. The company utilised a standard GH kit, including a hoist and end trucks, to carry out the engineering and installation.
