SafeLift Crane Aid has been awarded a contract to supply and install a dual overhead crane system for a project in Saskatoon, Canada.

The company announced the deal, which involves the delivery of a Demag USA/Canada dual overhead crane with a 21.9m span, electrically rotating hooks and a 74m runway system.

The new cranes are set to be built locally in Saskatchewan and will be installed for an undisclosed client in the region.

According to SafeLift Crane Aid, the project is considered a significant addition to its growing portfolio, with the company noting it is “another major project” as it develops its business through to 2027.

SafeLift Crane Aid specialises in services related to lifting equipment, particularly for clients in the mining sector.

The company’s capabilities include commissioning, inspection, load testing, and the servicing and repair of cranes and other lifting equipment.

Its offerings include routine and periodic inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical crane components.

Beyond installation and maintenance, SafeLift Crane Aid carries out safety upgrades, equipment modernisation, retrofit solutions, brake inspections and adjustments, and provides technical support for its clients.

The company also acts as an authorised distributor for R&M and supplies lifting equipment throughout Western Canada.

The company said the latest contract represents a further step in its expansion as it continues to grow its operations in Saskatchewan and across Western Canada.

Last month, SafeLift Crane Aid completed the installation and commissioning of a Demag DC-Com chain hoist in an underground tyre change bay at a potash mine in Saskatchewan. The new hoist replaced an older Kito model that had come to the end of its service life.
