WF Group of Companies has supplied and installed seven crane systems at Dow’s maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) facility in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, in a project carried out in collaboration with York Construction.

The turnkey package, designed to meet the needs of the site, included a range of overhead and jib cranes, as well as the associated runway steel and complete installation.

The scope of the supply comprised a 100t overhead crane, three overhead cranes each rated for 60t, two more with a 30t capacity, and a motorised jib crane capable of lifting 7.5t.

WF Group also provided runway steel to support the crane infrastructure and managed the installation of all systems as a single coordinated package.

The Fort Saskatchewan facility is operated by Dow, a materials science company serving customers in sectors such as packaging, mobility, infrastructure, and consumer applications.

The newly installed crane systems are intended to support daily operations at the MRO site.

WF Group of Companies delivered both the cranes and structural steel elements and was responsible for bringing the various elements together under its project team.

The company states that this approach enabled efficient and coordinated project delivery.

WF Group of Companies business brand WF Steel and Crane division manager Sushant Anand said: “Great to see a complex project come together from start to finish.

“Projects like this are a true team effort. Strong coordination, attention to detail, and execution across every stage make the difference. Well done to everyone involved.”

York Construction has more than 40 years of experience in industrial buildings and specialises in light-industrial real estate and design-build construction.
