US-based industrial manufacturing company Electrolift has partnered with Handling Systems & Conveyors to supply a new twin-hook dual-rail hoist to Lockheed Martin’s production facility in Camden, Arkansas.
The equipment will support operations at the site where Lockheed Martin manufactures PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors.
The hoist’s delivery comes as Lockheed Martin pursues a major scale-up of its PAC-3 MSE manufacturing capacity.
The company aims to triple output by the end of 2030 in response to recent contract awards by the US government.
In a multi-year arrangement, Lockheed Martin received a seven-year undefinitised contract action modification worth up to $53.86bn, boosting the total value of its long-term contract for PAC-3 MSE production to $58.62bn. An initial $4.7bn was provided in April for the first year of the deal.
This expansion is expected to increase jobs at the Camden site, with workforce numbers projected to grow by 50% from 1,200 to approximately 1,850.
Lockheed Martin is investing between $8bn and $9bn through 2030 across more than 20 facilities in the US.
The company has broken ground this year on two munitions sites, including the Munitions Production Center Building 47 in Troy, Alabama, and the Munitions Acceleration Center in Camden, Arkansas.
The material-handling unit supplied by Electrolift and Handling Systems & Conveyors is designed to provide precision, control, and reliability within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
According to Electrolift, its hoists are manufactured in the US and are intended for use in demanding applications.
The company’s product range includes single-hook, twin-hook, and base-mounted hoists as well as custom solutions.
