Oregon Steel Fabrication has received a 5t overhead crane supplied by Konecranes, adding new heavy-lifting capability at its facility.

The company expects the new crane, which will be operational soon, to help handle larger assemblies and improve material flow within the production area.

Oregon Steel Fabrication expects the crane to reduce workflow bottlenecks and add production capacity.

The acquisition follows several months of preparation by the company.

Oregon Steel Fabrication HR manager Britney Jones said: “It’s exciting to see these investments being made, and I’m proud of what our team is building. Grateful to be part of the journey.”

Oregon Steel Fabrication is a locally owned business serving commercial and industrial sectors with custom metal fabrication, assembly, cutting, and welding services.

The company works with general contractors and is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).

Its services include the fabrication, installation, and management of pre-engineered metal buildings and related steel structures for a variety of projects.

Earlier this month, Oregon Steel received structural steel components intended for the installation of a 5t overhead crane at its workshop in Eugene, Oregon.

These steel elements will be integrated into the current building structure to support the runway beams required for crane movement throughout the facility.

The new crane system will change how materials are handled at the site and support the company’s ongoing efforts to expand fabrication capacity.
