SafeLift Crane Aid, a division of Venter Cranes, has completed the commissioning and load testing of 10 new jib cranes at a facility in Saskatoon.

The cranes have now entered operational service following a process that included functional checks, safety verification, and the required final testing and documentation.

The project was completed in accordance with the updated CSA Group standard CSA B167:26, which emphasises the need for proper commissioning and verification procedures for overhead lifting equipment.

The standard also notes that safe crane operation depends on a series of inspections and checks performed by qualified personnel with expertise in crane structures, controls, hoists, and load handling, not just on initial functionality.

SafeLift Crane Aid operations manager Bradley Sliedrecht said: “Our team completed the commissioning and load testing of 10 jib cranes this week, ensuring operational function, safety verification, and documented testing prior to handover.”

SafeLift Crane Aid handles sales and service for overhead cranes and hoists and supplies various OEM parts across Canada, primarily from Demag and R&M.

The company offers services including load testing, electrification, and control system solutions for industrial lifting equipment.

The recent jib crane installation is one of several projects managed by the company within the Canadian industrial sector.

Recently, SafeLift Crane Aid installed ten Demag chain hoists and trolleys on jib cranes at a facility in Saskatoon for an unnamed client.

The company conducted the installation as a component of its ongoing projects serving the local industrial sector.
